Sydney Chronicles
The eagle has landed. From Queensland to New South Wales. From sweaty and stinky Brisbane to cold and overcast Sydney. I am no longer a ‘visitor’, I am a ‘resident’. I can no longer stand at Circular Quay and take photos of the Harbour Bridge and The Opera House. I need to act more local. No more staring-at-a-map business.
And I feel I need to share this with everyone. More so because I know that it will be a rather hilarious journey. And also because I need to document this for future generations to come (No mum, I am still not having any kids. Don’t start celebrating). I’ll need to show my nieces and nephews that crazy decisions and moves can be a fun thing. They need to know how NOT to listen to their parents and take risks in life.
Why Sydney? – you ask.
When you walk around the city, you can smell the enthusiasm and passion. Everyone is career-oriented. They all have dreams in their eyes. They are driven, competitive and hard working. Also because everyone in this city wears beautiful shoes. No jokes, but somehow every girl has the most beautiful, expensive and exclusive pair of heels. How can I not move here?
But seriously, this is the city of dreams. The opportunities are oozing out of every building in the CBD. The vibe is fast, crazy and fashionable. The city always seems to be buzzing. No one is scared of being judged or crossing the road when the red man flashes. Without a doubt, coffee is the most consumed commodity in this city.
The title of my blog should explain it all – but I’m here to fulfil my dream. Hunt it down. Pin it to the floor and breathe in its goodness. Ok, this is starting to sound a little freaky. But you know what I mean.
Oprah loved this city. And Shitika has moved to this city.
Picture me cutting a hypothetical red ribbon. Here’s a virtual inauguration to a start of my new life, new beginning and fantastic new shoes.
In this series, I will be documenting all the fun bits of my journey. When I find a new coffee shop, you’ll know. The day I move into my own house, you’ll see it (just don’t stalk, ok?). The minute I get a new job, you’ll hear me squeal and THEN you’ll read about it here.
Everything will be right here. Sydney Chronicles will be an ongoing diary about Sydney and Shitika. We’ll be best friends – give us a week.
Keep reading while I drool over the deliciousness of this city. Helllooooooo Sydney!
